Keweenaw Trail Running Festival The KTRF has raised over $6,000 for organizations in the Keweenaw who are working to save land from development, provide environmental education to youth, and to build non-motorized trails that can be enjoyed by all silent sport enthusiasts. Groups that have received donations from the KTRF include the Copper Harbor Improvement Association (for trail building and maintainance), the Gratiot Lake Conservancy (for environmental education), the North Woods Conservancy (for land preservation efforts in the Gratiot River Watershed and trail improvements), and the Keweenaw Land Trust (for land preservation efforts in the Keweenaw). Grand Island Trail Marathon & 10 Km The Grand Island Trail Marathon was able to make a cash contribution to the Clear Lake Outdoor Education Center, located southeast of Munising. The Center provides environmental education to children in Alger, Schoolcraft, Marquette, and Delta Counties. We will continue to support environmental education efforts at Clear Lake in 2006.
